Sandwich
I'm on a roll!
ALl 3 of my last posts here have wound up sucking!!
Let's try this one.
When you make a sandwich for yourself, do you cut it in half down the middle or from corner to corner diagonal style?
If you get a sandwich and it's cut the "Wrong" way, does it ruin your sandwich experience a little?
Me? Diagonal and yes if I order a sandwich or get one and it's just cut down the middle for what ever reason, I don't enjoy it as much.
Weird.

Dang! I was going to tell this story on my blog, but oh well...
Once, when we were kids, my grandmother cut my sister's sandwhich down the middle. My mother always cut our sandwiches diagonally. Anyways, my sister (who was 4 at the time) swore that her sandwhich would taste different because it was cut the wrong way. She refused to eat it. My poor grandmother tried to convince her otherwise, but she wouldn't listen. So, she just made CC a new sandwhich.
I myself (who was 9 at the time) told my grandmother to just let CC starve. But, she wouldn't listen to me. She was a much nicer person than I. ;)
I used to love diagonal. Most sandwiches at restaraunts are cut that way, so I never thought much about it. Now I like it down the middle because it seems like the more mature way to do it (don't ask me why). I could really go for a turkey club right now. Mmmm. Thanks, Jerk.
CC is right!
It just DOESN'T taste as good.
I know it's all in my head, but dammit it, it sure seems different.
LOL! I guess I didn't know there was such a consensus on this issue. I guess I was wrong when I told CC "It's the same sandwich!!" ;D
When I get a deli sandwhich, I like it cut at least somewhat diagonally. It doesn't have to be from corner to corner, but I like that small piece to start working on the sandwhich - if it's cut straight, then there is no good place for the first bite.
But if I eat a sandwhich at home, I very rarely cut it. Tastes better whole :)
My mom never cut our sandwiches diagonally, because we only made sandwiches out of one piece of bread. I guess my sisters and I should have put our heads together and shared a sandwich cut diagonally. I used to look wistfully at the other kid's wonder bread and jiffy with grape jelly cut diagonally and heave a sigh. My poor half sandwich was on wheat bread with twigs and berries and adam's all natural peanut butter that tore big chunks out of the bread.
Sandwich post.....I say "I'm on a roll"......come on guys, it was RIGHT there!!
You're slacking on your jokes.
I thought for sure at least KOM would say something about it.
shame........:(
Sorry, j - thought it was intentional. No sense in pointing out the joke. It does make it funnier if it was coincidental, tho.
It was unintentional, I didn't notice until this morning.
J, you are super cool
heheh...and I dontlike sandwhiches very much.
WHAT??
DON'T LIKE SADNWICHES?
That's a whole new topic. It never occured to me that someone could dislke sandwiches. Tuna? Maybe. Rueben? Some people don't. But to dislike the whole family?
i'm a diagonal girl. Sandwiches taste AWFUL when they're down the middle. AWFUL I tell you.
i hate salad sandwiches though. They're just pure EVIL.
Our canteen at work used to serve "Salmonella Sandwiches" until they shut the sandwich bar down. I always got sick when i ordered one from there.... curious.
I could go either way- although if I'm the one cutting, I generally do it straight across.
When I was a kid, I almost required it to be diagonal, but only because my brother liked his straight. The logic of a 4-year-old.
Ermmm... I never cut my sandwiches. Does that make me weird?
