The Blogger Cooler

You know, like the conversations around your office water cooler? Only, the conversations will be with cooler people. And you don't have to be afraid of your boss listening to your conversation. And, you can say anything you want during your conversation. Okay, so I guess it's nothing like the conversations around your office water cooler. Just leave a comment, dammit!

What's Yer Poison?

It's Friday, so I'll ask a Pre-Friday night question.

When (if?) you go out drinking, what's your fave, your drink of choice?

Me?
Beer, the darker the better, though Guinness is a little too much for me anymore.
If it's hard stuff, Bourbon/coke, Whiskey Sours and Harvey Wallbangers. It's tough to find a bar with Galliano though, so I RARELY get a Harvey Wallbanger.

Junebug or an Irish Rasberry if they can make it. Usually they can so I settle for Martini's
I like the Apple -Tini and the watermelon -tini

I absolutely HATE beer in all it's many forms. The first time I had it my friend said
"Drink more and it won't taste so bad" ANy drink that I have to consume a lot of before it stops being yucky is a crappy drink in my eyes. Life is too short to suffer for my buzz.

I like buttery nipples, girl scout cookies, friuty things served in a coconut with an umbrella. :)

Actually, I love beer, but beer doesn't love me anymore. I can drink a fraction of the alcohol from beer as I would from some spirit, and be bouncing off the floor like I've been drinking tequila all night.

Generally I stick to rum. I like Myers. Captain Morgan is good. Bottom shelf rum is turpentine, so I might as well drink a gin and tonic (yuck).

Strawberry daiquiri. Or a Mudslide. Mmmm...chocolatey goodness WITH ALCOHOL. Pure heaven, I tell you.

I've also discovered recently that I quite enjoy a good Merlot. That makes me feel all grown up!

I am not a beer girl. Now give me a long island ice tea, Apple cooler, or any kind of martini and i am set for the night. Oh tequil is good also so are jello shot and pina colads and i am going to stop before everyone think's i am some kind of lush.

lately at the pub it's been Barcardi and Coke, (i hate bourbon), and otherwise it's been Smirnoff Blacks, or Smirnoff lime & sodas.

Last night over dinner was a Mudslide Cocktail at the Hogs Breath Cafe, but as most of you might know...

MARGARITAS RULE MY WORLD!

I consider myself an expert in drinking alcohol and I have to relay something: It's really all about what you're in the mood for and possibly the time of day (or night).
My favorite drink by FAR is the bloody mary (thank god for them), but I also enjoy a salty dog. Beer is good if you already have a buzz and don't want to get too wasted. Wine is good if you're sitting around feeling sorry for yourself...
I really could go on and on.

I generally get a Captain Morgan and Coke. I was never a drinker before I turned 21, so when I went to bars, I'd be standing there looking around for a menu like a fast food restaurant. For some reason, they ALWAYS carded me!! KOM turned me on to Rum and Coke, and I think it's great. I think I started a trend in Napa when I moved back from Hawaii to have an Alabama Slamma' as a cocktail, rahter than a shot. That's my next favorite, but they are soooo strong! I don't mind a good beer either, but can never seem to drink very much - too filling!

Guinness... Though you really have to have a place that serves a good pint and then have about 3 or 4 of them before you get to like it.

I've heard Fat Tire is very good - we are actually distributing that nowadays. Maybe some will fall of the truck for me this Christmas!!

While trying to buy a slab of Warsteiner the other day (very nice beer, German, though the Germans I've met think it's crap), the off-licencee argued that I should buy Labbats Ice instead. Same price, only 5% as opposed to Warsteiner's 4%. (This was a big selling point by yer man).

Labbats Ice beer is quite nice...
