Best Ever!!
Wow, I'm on a roll here. It's like, I'm the queen of small talk. ;)
Current discussion "Lisa" and I are having (BTW, people, "Lisa" has actually updated her blog- amazing, no?):
What is the best comic book movie adaptation ever made?
Keep in mind, if you say Spider-Man 2, I will hurl you into the Atlantic Ocean.
I can't decide between Superman II, Batman I, or X-Men 2.
What's your opinion?

I've heard Sin City was pretty good. Never saw it.
I heard the new Batman blows away the Burton 'original'. Don't plan to see it.
I'm afraid that comic book adaptations are almost without exception crap. Sometimes they are slightly better than watching infomercial crap, but not by much.
Sin City ws great. The New Batman was also great and I hadn't planned to see it either. I sent my movie ambassodor A.K.A. Reese out to begin negotiations and she gave the all clear sign so I checked it out. They do usually blow but it was really good.
FYI I know Reese is always saying something about some weird debate we are having but I am not as much of a nerd as she portrays me to be. She always starts these conversations.
ROTFL @ "Lisa"!!!!!
Oh, she's so funny!! And, a liar. What a complete package! ;)
Batman Begins was good, but I wouldn't say this blows away the original. A general movie rule- if the original was awesome, the sequals can never truly blow the originals away.
Alright, I'm going to stop being indecisive. Despite my obvious Marvel leanings, I'm picking Superman II as the best comic book movie adaptation ever. X-Men 2 comes in a close, close, close second.
Spider-Man 2!!!
~scowl~ Dez, you don't listen. :|
;)
The way I hear it, the other Batman movies were so terrible,(with the exception of the original of course) they started the whole Batman story over. I found out the hard way when Bruce's parents' murderer didn't ask, "Have you ever danced with the Devil by the pale moonlight?" like the young Jack Napier did in the first-first Batman. And, yes, I do watch too many movies when I should be studying. But I'm going to give Sin City a slight edge over Batman Begins because it was done right the first time. By the way, if Mickey Rourke (yes, that Mickey Rourke) doesn't get an Oscar nomination for his portrayal as Marv, I'm gonna hurt somebody!
"Done right, the first time."
That's a good factor to consider, Johhny. Hmmm?? Now, I'm rethinking my pick...
Sorry to be so negative, I've been a funk the last week or so.
Superman 2 was fun, but it's one of those movies that I can't watch objectivly, because I grew up with it.
I actually got into an argument with a couple of friends of mine this weekend about spiderman 2. They both prefered it. I'm not a big fan of either, but the "Jesus" scene on the train in the second movie completely blew it for me.
I'm holding out for an Iron Man movie. Even if they have to throw in the Avengers. Oh, man, it could be bad.
Okay - I'm holding out for Kirasawa's Iron Man. No Avengers.
Actually haven't seen any of these movies. OH, I did watch Batman w/ Michael Keaton.
Superman 2 isn't REALLY an adaption.
The first Superman nailed it pretty damn good though.
Tank Girl sucked, but WAS exactly like the comic.
Daredevil I think nailed it too. I always thought Daredevil sucked and the movie proved me right. I wasn't disappointed.
All of the actual HULK action was PERFECT. Too bad the rest of the movie blew.
If I HAVE to pick a "Live action" movie I'll go with Superman & X-men tied.
If I can go animated "Batman: Subzero" wins.
I'd like to see a GOOD Captain America set in WWII or a CGI Silver Surfer movie.
Don't get me started.
I rather like Batman Begins.
I've seen the Spiderman ones too and Batman & Robin and DareDevil...
Batman Begins is better. Yup.
I wonder when they'll make a Wonder Woman movie? Will it be as cheesy and as good as the series? Hrm :)
J: Hmmm? That's a good point about the sequels not really being the adaptations. Hmmm? I'll have to think about that.
Squishi: They've already started destroying Wonder Woman on the big screen. Right now front runners to play WW, are Jessica Biel and Misha Barton.
